The original plan/location, Egmont Key Circumnavigation, Level III at Ft. De Soto, has changed due to road closures for a race event. The revised plan is as follows:

NEW plan: We'll meet at Fred Howard Park for a paddle around Anclote Key. This trip, in open Gulf waters, will involve extended paddling in occasionally choppy water. Depending on conditions, we may also paddle on to the sandbar north of Anclote. We'll plan to stop on the beach for rest/water play, then have lunch/snack before returning to Fred Howard Park by about 1:30 - 2:00. Total expected distance of 10 miles.
NEW Location: Fred Howard Park (Tarpon Springs) at the end of the causeway ($5 Park entry fee required if you don't have an annual pass).
Schedule (no change): Saturday, October 21, Meet at 8:30 for a 9:00 launch
Additional information: Bring adequate water/sports drink and lunch. Wear sunscreen and dress for the weather. If in doubt about ability be sure to check the TBSK Skills Assessment chart for self-evaluation - link below. Please do not overestimate ability !
Difficulty: Level III, total distance of about 10 miles in open water at average pace of 3.5 mph.
Required: Kayaks must be at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, PFD's and spray decks worn at all times (no inflatable PFD's on this trip).
