Meet at Emerson Point Park (Palmetto) at 9:30 a.m. We will launch by 10:00 a.m. to circumnavigate Snead Island (Emerson Point Park). Participants should be comfortable in open water and capable of paddling 8 miles. The launch site will be determined based on the number of participants. We will launch from the canoe/kayak launch, which has limited parking, if we have a small number of participants. Otherwise, we will launch from the picnic pavilion. There are bathrooms at the picnic pavilion, but not at the canoe/kayak launch. Please be sure to register on the web site or RSVP, preferably by email, so we can let you know the launch site Tuesday evening.
What to Bring: Lunch, water, sunscreen, and a kayak cart if you have one. Limited to kayaks 16 ft. or longer with waterproof hatches. Spray skirts required.
Difficulty: Level II. Intermediate, due to distance of up to 8 miles. For skill level info go to the Skills Assessment Chart and contact the leader with any questions
