Join us at the monthly meeting (the second Monday) to learn about various kayaking related topics and meet other kayaking enthusiasts.
Emma Mason from the Weedon Island Preserve will dis-cuss the preserve, paddling trails and some of the historical perspective about the Weedon people and the 40ft wooden canoe that was discovered in the park.
She will tell "the back story" on the discovery, excavation, preservation of the prehistoric canoe including a meeting with a Seminole Tribe Elder who was kind enough to share their Seminole canoe culture with us
The meeting, open to all, begins at 7 p.m. at Bill Jackson’s Shop for Adventure, 9501 US Hwy 19 N in Pinellas Park.
