Trip Leader: Harry Tobin
Launch at 9 a.m. from the Safety Harbor Marina and paddle South across the bay towards Courtney Campbell Causeway. Based on conditions, once we reach the causeway we will paddle East on the less choppy side of the causeway to Whiskey Joes' at causeway end. Bring money for drinks and lunch outside under the chickee huts on their private beach. Paddle should be 3 hours each way plus an hour for lunch. Tides should provide a push on the way back. Expect to return to the marina about 4 pm.
Paddle Difficulty: Level III Total distance will be just over 16 miles. Kayaks must be at least 16 ft with water tight bulkheads and spray decks. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen. Dress for water temperature which may be about 65 degree F. No inflatable PFDs please.
