Trip leader / Therese Eby thereseeby@gmail.com, 425-802-2281:

Explore a new kayak trail in a mangroves and salt marsh environment. Paddle to the Salt Spring,, and to a sandy beach at Durnew Key, a half mile offshore. See stilt houses in the Gulf. We can stop for a lunch break at the key, 2.miles.from the launch.

It is a pretty park with new boardwalks. I'll be there early for birdwatching on hiking trails with Clearwater Audubon, and hope to see.more birds and wildlife from the water.

Location: Werner-Boyce State Park, 8737 US-19, Port Richey, FL 34668, Pasco County.. Look for the yellow kayak at the sign on Rte 19 just south of Havertys Furniture.. $3 park entry fee. Drive to the end of the park road, where you will see a restroom (bldg on stilts).. Bring wheels or you can borrow some from the concessionaire, who has nine of them. There is parking for trailers
