-------------------------------------------

Our long awaited camping trip is coming up the first weekend of November (11/4 and 5). Trips will leave from three different locations depending on your skill level and the distance that you would like to paddle. We will meet on Shell Key near Ft De Soto Park. Enjoy walking on the beach, shelling, campfire and the full moon at night.

Location: We will leave from three different locations depending on the distance that you would like to paddle. The short trip (Level 1 and 2) will leave from the boat ramp at Ft Desoto and paddle 3 miles to the camp site on Shell Key. Level 2 trip will leave from Gulfport Marina and paddle approximately 7 miles. Level 2-3 trip will leave from the St. Pete Marina ramp and travel 12 miles.

Schedule: Short trip paddlers (Level 1 and 2)will meet at the Ft Desoto boat ramp at 10am for launch at 11. There is a $5 per day parking fee. $10 total at the boat ramp. Medium length paddlers (Level 2 and up) will meet at the Gulfport Marina at 10am for a launch at 11. Long trip paddlers will meet at the St Pete Marina ramp at 9am for a launch at 10.

Additional Information: It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that people new to kayak camping attend the TBSK picnic on 10/28. ACA certified camping trainer Terry Hobbs along with Mary Mangiapia will do a presentation about how to camp out of a kayak. Should be informative and fun!

Difficulty: Varies according to trip selected.

Required/Suggested/Restricted: When signing up, PLEASE let us know which trip you are joining. If in doubt of the trip location or route, please contact the trip leader.
