Wildlife viewing along the 3 mile segment of the Myakka River from the State Park Rd bridge to Upper Lake, out and back. The area is mainly open prairie with wide flats and narrow channels, with many wading birds and alligators (if sunny). Explore some of Upper Lake also, depending on conditions. Lunch at Pink Gator Cafe at Upper Lake (our turn around point) or bring a bag lunch. There may be a short portage over the dam at the lake if water is low.

Location: Myakka River State Park, 13208 SR-72 (10 miles east of US-75). Launch site is at the Myakka State Park Road bridge, about 3/4 mile north of main entrance. $4 entry single occupancy vehicle, $6 entry multi-occupancy vehicle. Rest rooms at the park main entrance and at the lunch stop.

Schedule: Wed, Nov 29, meet 9:30 am , launch 10:00 am , return before 2:00 pm

Difficulty: Level II, 6-10 miles. Typically 11 mph ESE wind.

Required / suggested / restricted: Limited to 5 signups plus leader (limited parking). Bring your binoculars. Wear PFD. Boats over 14' please.
