NOTE A MINOR CHANGE: Due to possible wind and chop at North Beach and Bunces Pass, the launch location for the Level 0 / I paddle (only) has been changed to the kayak rental area. This area is well protected by mangroves. We will be off the water in time to load up and drive to Shelter #1 for the picnic. The kayak rental area is about a mile beyond the “T” intersection right turn.

The launch for training and the Level II / III paddle will remain at the North Beach location.

Hamburgers & vegiburgers will be provided by the club. Please bring a dish to share. All paddlers bring PFD, water, hat, sunscreen. If the weather looks iffy, check our web site (www.tbsk.club) to see whether the picnic will be cancelled. (We’ll send an email too, but we know sometimes emails can get delayed.)

Hopefully the water temperatures will be rising soon (remember how good the Gulf water felt in our unusually warm February ?). If that happens, we can look forward to getting a little wet during our training session at the April picnic. Weather permitting, we will be looking at the proper way to make a wet exit as well as quickly completing an “Eskimo Rescue”. Remember though, that our TBSK picnic training sessions are intended to help the members who are there to work on what is important to them; so if the group has a particular skill or has specific questions, those are the things we’ll work on.
