Meet Al Tillson on Saturday September 1st at 8:30 AM for a 9AM launch near the Pinellas end of Gandy Bridge. We’ll be paddling about 2 hours at a leisurely pace into the Snug Harbor area with a break for lunch/snack and maybe a quick swim along the way or at the beach at the end. We’ll see lots of mangroves, a variety of fish, a fair array of water birds, and hopefully the occasional dolphin or manatee. Any seaworthy kayak is fine, but all participants must wear a PFD and carry a whistle or other sound-producing device. Be sure to bring plenty of water, lunch, sunscreen, bug repellent, and footwear that will protect you against possible oyster shells at take outs.
