Description: We'll paddle from Dunedin Causeway into the Gulf and then north along Honeymoon Island to the “South Three Rooker Bar” or what’s left of it. The hurricane has caused a significant change to north Honeymoon and South # Rooker. We need to explore and relearn the coastline. Plan to eat lunch on the beach and to have time for some skills practice before returning to the Causeway around 1:30.
Location: Dunedin Causeway just past (west) the kayak rental
Schedule: Wednesday, November 7 Meet at 8:30 and be GONE by 9:00
Additional information: No charge for parking on the beach, no water connections for boat cleaning
Difficulty: Level II, distance about 8 miles in open water, may be choppy, must have open water skills (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment)
Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, and spray deck; no inflatable PFDs. Bring lots of water/sports drink, lunch, sunscreen.
