NEW THIS YEAR! Options to paddle from Crisp Park, Level 0, _OR_ Weedon Island to Crisp Park in St. Petersburg and return, Levels 1+, 2 and 3.
Looking for 1 more trip leader and at least 1 non-paddling volunteer to collect food at Weedon Island and bring it to Crisp Park.

Join us for the club’s annual New Year’s Day paddle and potluck feast.
This year we are adding a 2-3 mile round trip paddle at Level 0 (1 -2 mph) that will meet at 9:30 AM at Crisp Park for a 10:00 AM launch. Paddlers will explore the waterways around Crisp Park.
Paddlers launching from the Weedon Island kayak launch ramp will meet at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. launch on New Year’s Day. We will head south through Bayou Grande and then through the canals, emerging into Placido Bayou and then onto Crisp Park for lunch. Total one-way distance to Crisp Park is 4 miles. Level 1+ and Level 2 paddlers will go approx. 8 miles round trip through the canals at speeds of 2-3 mph (Level 1+) and 3-4 mph (Level 2). Level 3 paddlers will go 10 miles round trip if favorable weather allows the outside route into Tampa Bay. Order of departure, when ready: Level 3, Level 1+, and then Level 2.
Please bring water, a dish to share for lunch, sunscreen and a hat. No inflatable PFDs. Please RSVP if you plan to join us.
If you plan to meet us at Crisp Park for lunch, we should arrive by water around 11:30 AM. We have tables and two covered pavilions reserved this year. The address is 3600 Poplar St NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Remember to park your car along Poplar St NE or the side streets. The paved lot near the boat ramps is reserved for vehicles with trailers.
