Description:  There is a fresh water boiling spring in St. Josephs sound just off shore near Pop Stansell Park in Palm Harbor. Lets paddle over it and try a bow dip with our dive masks to see what it looks like.  We will launch from Dunedin Causeway, go under the little western bridge and head northeast to the area.

We will need to use some compass and/or GPS navigation to get there and find the spot. If you are interested in getting the coordinates, NOAA chart 11411 shows it as "Boiling Spring" near Sutherland Bayou and it is visible on Google Earth.

We could stop at Pop Stansel or a spoil island for a break and head back. If weather is iffy, we could head east by the causeway and north up the shore to the park.

Difficulty:  About 6 to 9 miles depending on route, Level II.

What to bring:  Water, lunch, PFD, spray skirt, dive mask or goggles, compass, GPS.

Refer to TBSK’s Skills Self Assessment Chart for more details on trip levels and expectations.  Please register (or cancel via "already registered") on the TBSK web site to allow notification of any changes.
