Description: Depart from the kayak launch at Clam Bayou heading south to Maximo Park. We’ll plan for a break and/or lunch at Maximo Park. Relax or practice skills while at Maximo. Departing we’ll head south for a short hop to Indian Key. The group will decide whether to stay on the north side, our paddle around the south side of the island. Then back to our put-in via a cut through into Boga Ciega.

Predicted Tides: High 1:24p (+1.51ft), Low 5:38p (+1.16ft), Shove Off 10:00a (approx. 1ft)

Location: Gulfport Marina kayak launch. The launch is located on the east side of the facility, off Miriam Street South.

Schedule: Tuesday, November 26th, meet at 9:30a for a 10:00a launch.

Difficulty: A Level 2+ paddle of about 8.5 miles in open and tidal water. Water may be choppy and wind may be a factor. Solid self rescue skills required (See Skills Self Assessment Chart for level assignment.)

Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, and spray deck; no inflatable PFDs. Bring lots of water/sports drink and lunch.

Suggested Additional Items: waterproof camera, insect protection, sun protection including sunscreen and sunglasses with a float.

Parking: Free parking is available at the put-in or in the main parking lot.

Facilities: Wash rack at put-in/take-out
