Join us at the monthly meeting (the second Monday) to learn about various kayaking related topics and meet other kayaking enthusiasts.
Our February speaker will be Nick Von Poser, TBSK member and resident of British Columbia. He will discuss and show video of paddling in the waters surrounding Vancouver Island. The island’s west (ocean-side) coast offers great surfing conditions and remote coastline kayaking. Between the island and the mainland there are many smaller islands that constrict the incoming tide, increase the water flow, and in some places create surfable standing waves for sea kayaks.
As usual, our generous host Bill Jackson’s will provide hot dogs, chips, cookies and soft drinks about 6:45. Please arrive to enjoy the food and camaraderie before the meeting.
The meeting, open to all, begins at 7 p.m. at Bill Jackson’s Shop for Adventure, 9501 US Hwy 19 N in Pinellas Park.
