Location:  Gulf Pier (NOT the Bay Pier), Ft De Soto

Schedule:   Wednesday, March 18th ,    Meet at 9:00 and be GONE by 9:30

Additional information: There is a $5 Parking Fee if you don’t have a Pinellas Parks Annual Pass.  Bring lunch/snack, lots of drink, and sunscreen (it will be hot).  We will plan for a short stay on Anna Maria, eating on the beach before returning around 2:00.  Tide will be incoming for the duration of this paddle.

Difficulty: Level 3, distance about 12 miles in open water, may be choppy, and we will be crossing a busy shipping channel.  MUST have solid open water skills and maintain 4 – 4.5 mph pace for the duration of this paddle. (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment)

Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, and spray deck; no inflatable PFDs. Bring lots of water/sports drink, lunch, sunscreen.

Must register on the web site or RSVP to the trip leader to allow notification of any changes.
