Description: We'll plan to paddle from St Pete’s Maximo Park to the Blackstone Memorial on the Skyway, passing Indian Key and Whale Island on the way. We will also check the condition of the sunken “ship” as we get closer to our destination.
Location: Maximo Park, St Petersburg. Launching from Maximo Beach.
Schedule: Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Meet at 8:30 and be gone by 9:00. We will plan to be back by 1:00 unless the weather decides differently.
Additional information: Parking is free. No water connections for boat cleaning. Bring lunch/snack to eat at the park by the Blackstone Memorial, and LOTS of drink, and sunscreen.
Difficulty: Level 3, due to pace and distance of about 8 miles in open water, may be choppy, must have solid open water skills for this paddle. Refer to TBSK’s Skills Self Assessment Chart and contact the leader with any questions.
Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, spray deck. and wear a Non-Inflatable PFD. Please register (or cancel) on the website or RSVP to the trip leader to allow notification of any changes
