Trip leader: Therese Eby            therese@tbsk.club       425-802-2281

Description: We’ll meet at the boat ramp at Miss Maggie Campground at 9:00 a.m. to be on the water by 9:30 for a paddle on this COOL clear river.  We’ll visit several of the source springs and plan to get wet at “The Crack” before stopping on the river bank to enjoy whatever lunch/snack you decide to bring with you.  This will be a relatively easy paddle, but expect to travel about 5 miles.  The idea is to enjoy the river, stay cool, and see the wildlife in this unspoiled Florida river.

Location:   Miss Maggie Campground, also known as Chassahowitzka River Campground, 8600 W. Miss Maggie Drive, Homosassa. Parking fee is $5 ($7 with trailer).  The campground is at the end of FL Route 480, well south of Homosassa.

Schedule: Oct 21,2020 - meet at 9:00 a.m., paddle by 9:30 and plan to be back to the launch by 1:30.

Difficulty: This paddle is open to all TBSK members and guests at Level 2 or higher – but we will limit to a maximum of 6 paddlers to help with social distancing.   Wear a mask until we launch.  Distance will be about 5 miles. (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment – the guide is found in the “Paddling Guide” section of the club website.)

Required:  All boats welcome but must wear PFD.  Bring plenty of water/sports drink and lunch/snack.  Bring sunscreen and consider insect repellant.

Please register on the web site or RSVP to the trip leader to allow notification of any changes.
