Registration is closed

Meet Al Tillson at 11 a.m. on Friday March 19th for an 11:30 launch on the east side of North 4th Street below I-275 for a 3- to 4-hour leisurely paddle around Big Island and along the undeveloped shoreline toward St. Petersburg Airport with a lunch/snack break somewhere along the way. The later launch time will give us more options for the return leg of the trip.

Please RSVP on the club website in case weather requires a change of location.  IMPORTANT:  those who RSVP will receive directions to the launch site, which may be needed to avoid an unplanned round trip on the Howard Franklin bridge.

Due to the COVID19 crisis, we will practice social distancing on and off the water and prioritize towing in the event of a capsize.    All boats should have sealed flotation and bow and stern grab loops and/or deck lines.

Be sure to bring plenty of water, a face mask, lunch/snack, sunscreen, repellent, and footwear that will protect you against possible oyster shells at take-outs.  Your clothes should be adequate for the still-cool water temperatures;  a waterproof outer shell is also a good idea.
