Description: Meet Al Tillson at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 launch at Williams Park on Wednesday, June 23rd. We’ll paddle down the Alafia to the Bay and south in the Bay at a leisurely pace to Green and Whiskey Keys and the Kitchen.
Much of the shoreline is protected from development by Hillsborough’s ELAPP program, and with the relatively high tides that day, we should be able to explore a bit. Distance of about 6 – 7 miles. If conditions are conducive, those who are interested can paddle another couple of miles along the Alafia Banks and maybe see some juvenile roseate spoonbills.

Requirements: All boats must have deck lines, sealed bow and stern flotation, and a length of at least 15 feet. Spray skirts required.
Conditions: Tides at Shell Point (from saltwatertides.com): Low 6:15 a.m. 1.3 feet. High 12:43 p.m. 2.6 feet.
