Description: We'll paddle from the north end of the Fred Howard beach over to Three Rooker. Likely circumnavigate Rookers. No rush break, walk the beach.
Location: Fred Howard Beach in Tarpon Springs (park/launch on north end)
Schedule: Wed Jan 19th. Meet at 9:30 and be GONE by 10:00.
Additional information: Current weather forecast is excellent. Cool temps (50's quickly climbing to near 70). Very calm winds and Florida sunshine. There's a $5 parking fee (or Pinellas pass). No water connections for boat cleaning. Low tide 7:57a (-0.59ft) High at 2:14p (2.27ft).
Difficulty: Level 2, distance is at least 9 miles, open water crossing. May be choppy so you must have open water skills (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment.)
Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, and spray deck; no inflatable PFDs. Bring lots of water/sports drink, snack, sunscreen.
