Training is cancelled due to weather forecast.
Coaches: Jean Totz & Tom Joseph
Location: Fred Howard Park, 1700 Sunset Drive in Tarpon Springs. Picnic will be at Shelter #5. (No need to register for the picnic if that's ALL you want to do with us on that day - just come.)
Date/Time: Saturday, May 21. Arrive by 8:30 a.m. Class will start at 9:00.
Number of Students: 4, open to all skill levels
Class description: Let’s figure out how to get back in or on our boats after a capsize! Rescues are perishable skills—even if you’re familiar with them, it’s important to practice them regularly. We’ll focus on wet exits, assisted rescues, self-rescues, and using assistive tools like paddle floats and stirrups. This session is open to paddlers of all skill levels and sit-in or sit-on-top kayaks. Come prepared to fall over, get wet, sort out situations, and laugh a lot!
What to bring: Spray skirt, paddle float, stirrup, dive mask or goggles, nose plugs. If you do not have a paddle float or stirrup, we can provide them.
Bring your own lunch and drinks and enjoy socializing with your fellow members at the noon picnic after the training, at Shelter #5.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel, please do so on the TBSK website so that another member may take your place.
