Circumnavigate Caladesi Island - Level 2

Conditions look great for a paddle around Caladesi Island. Launch from the Dunedin Causeway (just nw of the Sail Honeymoon concession), we'll be going clockwise. Just back from summer in Wisconsin, looking forward to getting salty and see lots of sea birds and dolphins!
Caladesi used to be an island but now it requires about a 100 yd boat carry at the 1/2 point to get back to the water. Good timing to take a relaxed break there. Casual L2 pace (which means bring your faster boat to stay with the group).
Let's gather at 9:30 so we can launch by 10. Parking is free and should be readily available (trailers ok). Bathrooms. Trip distance just under 8 miles. Estimate return by 1:30.
Forecast is light winds (5mph WSW) with 24% chance am rain. Low tide (-0.3ft) is at 8:18a, high (2.55ft) at 2:44p. Gulf temp low 70's. Anticipating light winds but hey..we'll be paddling on the gulf side and through Hurricane Pass so be comfortable with bumpy waters.
For that L2 pace..15+ ft kayaks with floatation (bulkheads, etc) and sprayskirt. No inflatable pfd's. Bring sun protection, hydration and snack.
