Maximo Park to Gulfport

Description: We'll paddle from Maximo Park South through the Tierra Verde bridge and then across Boca Ciega Bay to Gulfport where we’ll take a snack/drink break before returning to Maximo around 1:00.
Location: Maximo Park (last exit on 275 South before the Skyway). Departing from the picnic area (beach), not the boat ramp.
Schedule: Saturday, May 27th Meet at 9:00 and be GONE by 9:30
Additional information: No charge for parking
Difficulty: Level II, distance about 8 miles in open water, may be choppy, must have open water skills (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment)
Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, and spray deck; no inflatable PFDs. Bring lots of water/sports drink, lunch, sunscreen.
