Trip title: Fort DeSoto Fun for All L1 paddle

Description: Invite a friend/guest and let’s paddle and play for two hours prior to the picnic. Leisurely paddle with basic instruction provided for beginners, if requested. We will paddle in protected and sheltered waterways launching from the Fort Desoto kayak and SUP rental area IN the park. Distance 3-5 miles.
We may see a manatee or two and other members playing in the water, working on their rescues! We will meander around and maybe through one or two mangroves. PFDs must be worn. Bring water, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a smile!
Meet at kayak rental place by 9:00am. Launch by 9:30am. We will return around 11:30am (a two-hour rental will be sufficient.)
Location: Fort DeSoto canoe, kayak and paddleboard outpost. If renting, arriving early for rental arrangements is strongly encouraged 727-864-1991. Parking fee $5 per vehicle in park. Can pay electronically via Park Mobile app. When entering, turn right at the T. Outpost will be on the right, across the street from a dog park. Bathrooms are across the street.
Schedule: Saturday, November 18, 2023. 9am arrival, 9:30am launch. 11:30am return.

Required / suggested / restricted: Kayaks and SUPs are allowed. PFD must be worn. Bring a dry bag if renting.
