SPRING HUNTING ON THE CHAZ - LEVEL 2

Description: We’ll paddle the springs and tidal creeks of the Chassahowitzka River: Seven Sisters, Blue, The Crack, Salt Creek Head Spring, Ruth, and Potter. If we reach them all, our tour will be about 8.5 miles. We can cut the trip shorter than that depending on the group’s preferences.
Location: We’ll launch and take out at Chassahowitzka River Campground, located at 8600 W. Miss Maggie Drive in Chassahowitzka.
Schedule: Meet at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 launch. Anticipate finishing up around 2:00 p.m.
Additional information:
· Parking fee is $5 for vehicles with no trailers, $7 for vehicles with trailers.
· Bring a mask and snorkel if you’d like to get a closer look at the springs.
Difficulty: This is a Level 2 trip based on potential mileage and paddling against a little tidal current on the return trip.
Gear: Wear a PFD, bring lunch and plenty to drink, and you might need to dress in layers for warmth. Refer to TBSK's Skills Self Assessment Chart and contact leaders with questions or any personal medical issues they need to be aware of.
