Description: Time to get your explorer mode on! What would you do if you had to paddle in fog? Find a new island with others all around it? Minimize or utilize current or wind to get there?
We review basic float plan considerations along with some navigation skills like reading a chart, using a compass, as well as other ‘points’ of navigation on land first. Then we plot a course, note waypoints, and launch off into the wild blue yonder. Will we find treasure?
No experience necessary – just a sense of curiosity, attentiveness, and adventure.
We meet at 8:30am on the beach. Class starts at 8:45am.
We launch on our adventure by 9:45am/ returning by 11:45am. L1-2
