HOLIDAY PADDLE AT LAKE TARPON - REC/LEVEL 1
Don your Santa hats, decorate your kayaks, and let's ring in the holidays together!
Report to John Chesnut Park by 9:30AM on Saturday, December 13 and be ready to launch by 10AM. We will arrange at least two paddling groups for a short leisurely paddle of the lake and scenic Brooker Creek. Scott Jantz (scottjantz2@gmail.com, 386-853-5159) and Jill Lingard (jill.lingard@gmail.com, 352-665-1776) will lead a group. We'll call upon other leaders once we see how many folks sign up.
John Chesnut Park is located at 2200 East Lake Road S in Palm Harbor.
This is a Recreational/Level I paddle lasting about one and a half hours. Any kayak 12 feet or longer is welcome. If your kayak lacks bulkheads, please ensure it has bow/stern flotation. As usual, wear your PFDs and bring something to drink while on the water. We will return in time to participate in our holiday picnic at Shelter 1, next to the boat ramp where we'll be launching from. Be sure to sign up for the picnic here.
If you have any medical issues that might impact your paddling, please notify leaders before the trip so that they can be best equipped to assist you as needed.
