Caladesi Circumnavigation
Come join us for a circumnavigation of Caladesi Island. Meet at Dunedin Causeway Beach, just west of the Sail Honeymoon concession, on Wed. Feb.4, 2026 at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 AM launch. The plan, weather permitting, is to circumnavigate Caladesi Island in a clockwise direction due to a flood current (inflowing) throughout the trip. A high tide of 2.1' is expected at 1:49 PM. A low tide of -.4' at 7:47 AM could prevent us from doing the mangrove trail. We could check it out though. This will be a Level 2 coastal trip of 7-8 NM.
REQUIRED: minimum 15ft. Kayak with bulkheads and spray skirt, properly fitted PFD worn. Bring snacks and plenty of water
RECOMMENDED: Sunscreen, sunhat, neoprene or dry top, closed tow shoes, extra safety equipment like bilge, paddle float, radio, tow belt etc.
